Experience Barnsley Museum is looking for Britain’s Best Tolkien Memorabilia
Experience Barnsley Museum is currently hosting the ‘Magic of Middle-earth’, an exhibition which celebrates the genius of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Packed with fascinating objects and collectables, it’s a must-see for any Lord of the Rings fan. To celebrate the exhibition the museum is hosting an online event on Thursday, 21 February, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, to find Britain’s best Tolkien memorabilia. Hosted by collector extraordinaire Matt Fox, he will give his professional opinion on the items shared, including value and relevance to the books and films.
People will be encouraged to share photos and any information they have on their objects with the museum via their social media platforms or by email at BarnsleyMuseums@barnsley.gov.uk.
At the online event, Matt will review a shortlist objects (based on the photos people have shared) and give his opinions live via the Museum's Facebook page, they want everyone to tune in and join in the conversations!
The owners of the shortlisted items will receive a Tolkien-themed gift as a prize.
Councillor Robin Franklin, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “We are delighted at the success of the ‘Magic of Middle earth’ exhibition at Experience Barnsley Museum.
